Split Pea Soup




Makes 8 servings

Ingredients


■  10 cups water, chicken broth, or mixture of both
■  4 cups dried split peas, rinsed and picked cleaned
■ 1 cup diced ham
■ 1 cup chopped celery
■ 1 cup chopped onion
■ 1 cup sliced carrots
■ 1 teaspoon salt
■ ½ teaspoon pepper
■ ¼ teaspoon crushed dried marjoram
■ 1 bay leaf

Instructions


Put all the ingredients into the slow cooker. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Or cook on high for 6 hours, until the split peas are tender.
