BAKED APPLE CHIPS

INGREDIENTS
  • Apples
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • A pinch of cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Line baking sheet (or two) with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cut the apples crosswise into thin rounds. Don't worry about removing the seeds, they'll shrivel up and fall out as they cook.
  3. Toss the apple slices in a little fresh squeezed lemon juice. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over top and toss to coat.
  4. Lay the apples in a single layer on the parchment covered baking sheet. It is ok if they overlap just a little bit.
  5. Bake for 1 hour then remove them from the oven. Carefully (they'll be hot!) flip over apple chips. Return them to the oven and bake for about 1 more hour.
  6. Watch carefully near the end so they do not burn.
  7. Remove the apple chips from the oven and let cook completely. Store in a sealed container.
NOTES
I highly recommend you use fresh squeezed lemon juice. The stuff in the squeeze bottles has a funny flavour and will be noticeable in this recipe. I've left the quantities out on purpose. For this recipe you can easily make as many or as few as you would like.
